Drug Traffcking
MCN: Yemeni tribesmen seized six drug traffickers as they tried to smuggle four tons of drugs into Saudi Arabia, reports said Thursday.
The Saudi daily Okaz quoted Sheik Naji, the lead of al-Hayan tribe in the region of Khashaa on the Yemeni-Saudi border, as saying the six were traveling in three cars when they were stopped by tribesmen.
Naji said the drug shipment came from the province of Mahra in eastern Yemen.
He said the tribe informed the governor of the province of the incident and police were dispatched to destroy the drugs.
The six drug traffickers were handed to police who are searching for six more suspects, Naji added.
