In his speech, the president of Yemen, Ali Abdullah Saleh, talked about terrorism, stressing: “Islam is a religion of justice and tolerance…Islam completely rejects terrorism,” he said. “We have talked so many times about the key causes of terrorism, on the top of which is poverty,” he explained, urging the rich nations to help the poor ones, and so eliminate terror. (this Saleh stole what, 20 billion and put it in German and Dutch banks, and now he wants more?)

Yemen’s north is the centre of Zaydism, the second largest group inside Shi’i Islam. Zaydism is known for putting less importance on the position of the Imam, than among the Twelver (Iran), perhaps because the Zaydis have enjoyed far more political and religious freedom than the other.

Dictators love each other.

The same occurs when the Mullahs kiss the ass of “secular” tyrants like Fidel Castro, or the latter supported secretely Spain’s Franco or the Argentinean military dictatorship.

what Grapped my attention is the Call of the Yemeni preisident for the rich countries to help Yemen. For God sake, Stop the corruption!!! what the International funds and Org. do in Yemen is merely a symptomatic treatement, the underlying cause (corruption)is still there. I would not exaggerate if i said that Corruption has become an essentail part of the Yemeni Culture. unfortnately this is true. nowadays Parents teach their sons how to be “SMART” by accepting bribes and such stuff.
it is hard to change a culture has already established itself in people’s mind.
we need FREEDOM of speech. we need the president to step down form the Judisciary counsel. we need our integrity back.
salam
