In Advance of Saleh’s Trip to the US

How about giving al-Khaiwani his paper back? That would be nice, Ali.

Saleh’s in a mad rush this month to do all the things he hasn’t done for years and probably will undo upon his return:

the Houthis, all pardoned, everythings fine, they are no longer apostates or enemies of the state

the brain damaged, crippled 14 year old “terrorist” pardoned

political reform, wow, elect the local leaders, the shura council to be partially elected (but with a government monopoly on the broadcast media and the overpowering influence of the ruling party, well, you know…)

set a minimum age for kids in jail, me I think 14 is the youngest that kids should be imprisoned with adults, and reeealy those nine year olds in jail irk me, as does the treatment of women prisoners

free the rioters rounded up at random

reform the GPC (the ruling party headed by Saleh)

pardon al-Dailami and the other guy and Luqman who were all prisoners of opinion (theres several more in this catagory still imprisoned)

So here we have Saleh, the nice dictator. This month anyway.
