So its a little funny, Saleh won’t hand over Zindani who the UN and US have classified as a “Major Terrorist” and financier. He wont even freeze his bank accounts (but then again technically Zindani is Saleh’s sheik **correction**no he’s not, thats Sheik al-Ahmar, woops).
But Saleh is asking Saudi Arabia to extradite this guy al-Asnag because he founded a democratic, non-violent reform movement.

Technically, it is Shiekh Al Ahmar who is Saleh’s Sheikh, not Al Zindani!

I have to check, I know they are required by that UN designation to freeze his assests. Im not sure, but I think you are correct that the US wants him extridicted to the US. I have it somewhere, Ill look.
Ok theres some links here. I think the treasury department statement says besides funding, and purchasing weapons, he is a contact for Ansar al-Islam. And Global Securities says Ansar al-Islam is the parent of Ansar al-Sunna who is in Iraq, beheaded the Nepalaese workers, and blew the US soldiers mess tent in Mosul. But I dont have the UN document that explains the implication of being officially termed a “Major Terrorist” by the international community.
