Unfortunately, Saleh will not step down, the name calling and finger pointing will continue as the regime continues to dismiss the corruption and the lack of a future for the people as it enriches itself. As more aid is cut to the country, all that will come in correcting the corruption is token commitees and a few token punishments.

Well Mohammed I have to say I agree with you, the situation is well documented, very urgent and getting worse. Many of the solutions are known but there is little political will from the leadership to impliment them.

Whenever there is talk about the deteriorating and devestating situation in Yemen, we hear a voice (usually from an ALIAS claiming to be a PATRIOTIC Yemeni)suggesting that those who stir-up this talk are: corrupt, foreign agents, spies, Zionists, misguided, mislead, misinformed, and in some cases, they are creatures from Mars.

As was the case recently with Saleh when he stated during a conference, 'those who speak of the presence of corruption, are themselves who are corrupt"!!!!!!!!! What can one say, Saleh has made clear that all who speak of corruption will be labelled as corrupt and more so, will probably face 'punishment'.

The REAL PATRIOTS and correctionalists are those who are concerned about the well-being of Yemen and Yemenis.

Not to list the many institutions, international organizations and GOVERNMENTS who have openly and clearly recognized the dire financial and economic situation Yemen currently confronts; One needs only to see the facts on the grounds, poverty, increasing unemployment, rising inflation, rising illetracy rate, demise of the health sector, shrinking in international direct and indirect investment, trade defecit, and imbalance of trade.

The population of Yemen is increasing, its natural resources, mainly oil reserves and natural gas, are decreasing, its young generation is not getting the education nor the healthy up-bringing its needs to see the country through the 21st century.

These are the facts. They are VERY EVIDENT on the ground in Yemen. This is reality. Coupled with the recognition of international organizations, governments, and experts, the situation in Yemen is frightening. What is more appalling is that future indicators are not positive and Yemen is heading towards complete catastrophe.

The little game of name-calling and finger pointing is over. It's irresponsible and it is no longer applicable. The people of Yemen and the REAL PATRIOTS want action from the politicians, and for starts, they need Saleh to 'step-up' and take action. If he can't, then he should 'step-down'.

Quite novel.

Yes some of the oppositon is also corrupt.

I will reveal to you how I get my information: You have a gmail account. Go to the bottom where it says set up alerts. Thats it. I have about 10 or 20 set up like this: Yemen, Sanaa, Yemen democracy, Yemen children, Yemen terrorism, al-ahmar, Saleh, Salih, ect. So everyday I get in my mail box these lists of every thing new on the internet about Yemen. Really there is no crazy mystery man and no one is directing me.

You are correct, it is a lot of work. I check through 20 or more stories a day. But its so rewarding when the govt calls me crazy names in the newspapers.

You are right that many people are only looking at their problems and not on a national level.

A bit of advice, leave al-khaiwani out of it. He tells me nothing, and if I want to find out whats on his website, I have to do a machine translation of it and it comes out very strange. Its very time consuming so I dont bother. I get enough from the google alerts and also I read the english newspapers. He has never tried to influence me once, so I believe in his integrity and nothing can convince me otherwise.

So Yassar, what is the appropriate way to combat corruption and straighten out the economy? What is the right information that I am missing?

I know that we have alot of people are saying that the corruption all over the country and we could not stop it. But your way and thier is not appropriate to stop the corruption. I want you to ask about something (Are there any corruption aspects in the opposition parties). I think the only answer is (Yah, sure) most of the people are doing the same way just for indivdual problems like al-khaiwany and his friends. For the benefit of the country, I am sure the only answer is no 100%.

I know that you will read my comment and you will say that the prime or somebody paid me money to write this, but I swear that No body paid me money and I swear again that my aim is know your point of view and I think that all of the people provide you with the wrong information. I know you have alot of information that is true but the people told you about Yemen they just auxajurate on their information and sometimes lies.

I know who gives you the information about Yemen. A person who is almost crazy. And he is not thinking about developing the country or something else. And Another guy who is just interested on your reports and articles to be published on the newspapers and other journalists who is paid by opposition people.
Sorry for disturbing you by my writing but I want to express my feeling and what is going on. I think you think about Yemenis more than them.
The opposition parties went to qat sessions and their pockets full of money from the opposition personals. And they write not for Yemen but for money.

I am sure you will notice this situation and you will know how they are thinking about Yemen and their point of views.

Thanks alot for your time
