Clashes renew, fighting and arrests. Abdel-Malik notes the Yemeni state’s stance toward events in Lebanon matches Houthis-ie, both support Hezbollah and their calls for “Death to America.” al-Houthi suggests coordination with regime, presumably marking the end of Houthi’s calls for support for Saddah civilians by the US and the international community. With a common enemy (the US) and a common hero (Hezbollah), Abel-Malik seeks a new alliance with the regime. Saleh who has advocated sending money, weapons, and fighters to Hezbollah through private means may be able to expidite the transit of some of the Houthis to Lebanon, among others.

In his letter, Abdulmalik stated, “Our stance at this stage is no different from the official stance and doesn’t contradict it so as not to detract from it,” clarifying, “These circumstances actually prepare us to remove differences and solve the problem. By dictating such stance’s unity, the problem can be solved completely.”

As the movement’s most prominent field leader, Abdulmalik further declared, “We demand an opportunity to activate the popular stance,” noting that, at this stage, he doesn’t think the main concern is silencing any voice rising against what he described as Israeli and U.S. arrogance.

He also proposed a type of coordination in activating popular and official stances, justifying his proposal by saying it’s incorrect if the official stance is serious and prevents a clear and supportive popular attitude from emerging.

In the letter, a copy of which the Yemen Times received, Abdulmalik asserted that the nation’s current situation and developments in Lebanon prepare the movement and the government to solve the great problem between them, as Hezbollah ideology is near to the goals of Al-Houthi followers, particularly the severe enmity toward Israel and its U.S. ally.

Yahya al-Houthi didn’t get the memo and continues to talk about the regime’s actions in Saddah. focusing on the regime’s tyranny instead of the more popular “American tyranny.” News Yemen:

The MP Yahya al-Houthi, brother of Hussein al-Houthi who led a rebellion in Saada in 2004 and was killed in September of the same year, condemned the behaviors of security authorities in Saada which he described as “savagery behaviors against people in Saada and other governorates”.
Yahya al-Houthi said in a statement, he has sent from his residence in Sweden, that security authorities are making “illegal arrests in Saada”, calling for releasing all detainees and giving up such practices which he said might lead to bad consequences.
“Authorities should deal with our brothers in Saada according to justice and laws in the country,” said al-Houthi.
Al-Houthi statement came after president Saleh ordered to release his salaries which have been suspended after he left the country to stay abroad.
Despite internal and external calls for the Yemeni authorities to settle the issue of Saada through peaceful dialogue and admitting the public and special rights of every citizen. And despite the declared official orders to solve our crisis and our friendly messages calling for tolerance and cooperation, those authorities continue committing violations,” said al-Houthi.
The statement of Yahya al-Houthi has contradicted with another message for his brother Abdul-Malik al-Houthi to president Saleh explaining that “conditions have become appropriate for solving disputes and uniting stances”.
“The challenges that the Islamic nation faces and developments in Lebanon push us to avoid our differences to face together the American and Israeli tyranny,” said Abdul-Malik in his message after the official support for the Lebanese resistance led by Hezbollah against Israel.
A close source to Abdul-Malik rejected in a statement to NewsYemen to compare Abdul-Malik’s message with Yahya’s. “Abdul-Malik was not only looking for solution for the crisis in Saada, but he was interested through his message to tackle the situation of the Islamic nation”, said the source, pointing that Abdul-Malik does not agree with oppressions by security authorities.
The source denied that the message aimed to disconcert president Saleh who has hailed resistance of Hezbollah against Israel.
“Abdul-Malik appreciated in his message the official stand against the Islamic nation enemies and he has hope that such a stance may be a start for conciliation between the state and al-Houthi supporters in Saada,” said the source.
The source said that Hussein al-Houthi, whom it described as “martyr”, was not seeking any gains, but his hopes were to resist the Israeli and American despotism.
Leaders in the ruling party refused to comment on the message of Yahya al-Houthi, but the information office of president Saleh stated that the president keenly took the message into account and ordered the governor of Saada to complete assessing damages and tackling impacts of the events on people in Saada.
The office said that president Saleh ordered to communicate with rebels who are still in Saada mountains to persuade them put down guns and live peacefully as good people and practice their political rights like all Yemenis.

So again the hierarchy of civilian value is based on the identity of the combatants.
