February Escapees found to be Suicide Bombers

Gee didn’t President Saleh say several times that he was in contact with the escapees and was negotiating with them for their return? Now two of the escapees are said to have committed suicide attacks on oil facilities which were thwarted by alert security forces. And the Sanaa cell that they are trying to link to the opposition candidate is tied to the bombers. And the Sanaa cell is headed by President Saleh’s cousin-in-law according to the opposition. Meanwhile, back in February, the escape occurred with the assistance of some sympathizers within the Yemeni security apparatus.

In any event, President Saleh should have held the announcment until after the voting tomorrow. The press conference and these charges have the potential to de-legitimze the election reuslts which would be very bad. Several hundred thousand fraudulent registrations is one thing. This is something else altogether.

SANA’A, Sep. 19 (Saba)- Police revealed on Tuesday that there are links between the groups which committed two suicide bombings in Marib and Hadhramout governorates and the group that has been arrested in Sana’a last Saturday.

“According to information the government revealed the existence of ties with two foiled attacks that targeted two oil facilities in the governorates of Marib and Hadhramout,” a source at interior ministry said. The Sana’a terrorist group had plotted to target vital institutions in Sana’a city,.” the source added.

The source said that name of the two attackers who carried out the attackin in Hadhramout are: Shafiq Ahmed Omar Zayad (one of prisoners who runaway from the political security jail) and the second is Hisham al-Araqi. The name of the two attackers who plan to launch the bombings in Marib governorate are: Amr Saeed Hassan Jaralleh (one of prisoners who run away from the political security jail) and Ahmed al-Abyad. The source added that the terrorists divided into three groups, two groups attacked oil facilities in Marib and Hadhramout and the third was arrested in Sana’a city.

The name of the third group are: Bandar al-Akoa, Ibrahim al-Sakhi, Amireddin al-Warafi, Amad al-Shas and Hassan al-Dharhani, the owner of the house where the police arrested the terrorist group with weapons and dynamites. The souse concluded by saying that the police is continuing investigation with the group to know further details on its terror activities.

And thus we have the fifth spelling of the name: Hassan al-Dharhani

Update: Al-Sahwa

Spokesman of joint meeting parties JMPs, Mohammad Kahtan , affirmed that Hussein Altharhani-that authority said he is companion for Bin Shamlan (JMPs presidential candidate) and was charged with attempt of committing terrorist act-is relative to ruling party presidential candidate Ali Abdullah Saleh.

Altharhani is married from “Maksa Family”, uncle of Ali Abdullah Saleh. About denial of ministry of interior that Al-tharhani isn’t security officer, Kahtan said :”it’s true that he isn’t security officer but he is noncommissioned officer”.
