To Petiole:
Don't you get it? Nuclear energy is just a ruse! All they really want is nuclear weaponry. If they can only get their hands on some radioactive material of any kind, they certainly have the technical capacity to make dirty bombs. They, like Iran, are the last countries to need nuclear power plants. Does it make any sense for a country to spend billions on nuclear power plants when they have so much cheap fuel at their disposal. The only reason they export so much is that they have such a large surplus! Use some common sense, my friend.

US Helping Terror-Haven Yemen Go Nuclear...

Given today's large-scale terror attack in Yemen, it is worth noting that this is utterly predictable given that Yemen openly hosts and finances both Hamas and Hizballah. (By the way, how can that be--we've been told that it's critical for Sarah Pal...

Yumpen Yemenies!!!

What I've seen agrees with what our botanical friend above (#2) says.

Apparently this was an assertion by a politician in order to get votes (now THERE'S a surprise)

So, I also doubt that it will ever occur, for largely the reasons given by petiole. And I also hope, for the following reason, that it is just a fantasy.

"Sept. 29 fatal firefight near British Embassy
Gun battle 'normal accident'."

(2nd article down)

Oh, yeah, we want nukes in the hands of people without minds, or consciences. Suuuure, we do!

[...] If this report is true, it’s got to be one of the stupidest ideas of the last hundred years: US to help Yemen go nuclear: Saleh. Yemen will go nuclear to make up for the shortcomings in the electricity supply in the country, said President Ali Abdullah Saleh Monday evening, at his annual Iftar reception held at the Republican Palace. Necessary studies and research are well underway for the adoption of such a technology. [...]

this nuclear talk is a big joke in yemen .. a storm in cup. there is hardly a technical, scientific or industrial base for nuclear technology in yemen no institutional culture of a standard that will accomodate such challanging task .. let alone safety requirements in a chaotic and corrupt governmental set up .. there is not even a single study about this topic .. and suddenly out of the blue comes a president with such assertions .. he must be dreaming or a victim of some dreaming clique
