When talking to the donors, there’s a threat of terrorism in Yemen, but with the investors, theres no threat at all. This is President Saleh’s nephew, head of the Central Security forces and of the Al-Maz group reportedly dealing in cotton, tourism, weapons and oil.

almotamar.net – SANAA- Chairman of the Yemeni Society of Tourism and Travel Agencies Yahya Mohammed Abdullah Saleh affirmed that there were no security fears against investments in Yemen, calling on all investors to benefit from the riches found abundantly in Yemen in various areas.

He pointed out that president Ali Abdullah Saleh and the government are keen to support and encourage investment and offer more opportunities and advantages to investors including the government revision of the laws the investors see they are still in need of more elasticity. Mr. Yahya Saleh told almotamar.net Yemeni people understands the importance of investment for the national economy, adding, ” These investments could not be affected negatively and the proof is there is no attack by the Yemeni citizens on any of the investments presently existent on Yemen.”

He has also touched on the phenomenon of carrying weapons, saying curbing of this phenomenon would bring forth more investments and tourism in Yemen. . He asked the government to issue strict legislations to encircle this uncivilized phenomenon that offends the image of Yemen civilization. He clarified that those who carry weapons and walk in the streets are greatly mistaken as the human cannot be esteemed by the weapon he carries rather than his thought and high behaviour and the service he offers to his homeland and people.
He also called the attention to the importance of joining forces by both the government and the society for explaining the damage caused by this phenomenon on the national economy and to change the wrong concept of some regarding carrying weapons through campaign of enlightenment through the media, security men and social personalities and other enlightening activities
