Yahya al-Houthi: Muslim Brothers and Bathiis Join Army in Attacks on Houthis
Again, nothing new. Hard to believe its the first time they made this accusation. In 2005, I wrote about the nexus of the Baathists, Jihaddists and the Yemeni military who were fighting against the Houthis in the second Saada war. This is the third Saada war.
Yahya al-Houthi, brother of fighters leader in Saada, north of Yemen, has accused Muslim Brothers and Baathis of joining the military attacks against them.
It is the first time al-Houthis charge what they called “foreign gangs that escaped Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Somalia and Iraq” of supporting the Yemeni army in war against Houthi Shiites.
In a letter to NewsYemen, al-Houthi said “Saada has become a mill in hand of the Army and their supporters to crush citizens.”
He said the authorities refuse any trying of mediation and peaceful choices.
The Yemeni Army said “al-Houthi insurgents are using government offices and schools in the province as shelters to shoot at troops which could not respond to such shootouts to save lives.”
Military sources said that five of al-Houthi followers were arrested few days ago and that important documents were seized. They said that two Houthis found dead with drugs in their pockets.
Governor of Saada said it was al-Houthi who refused to receive the mediation committee and all offers to disarm and become good people. “They have preferred violence, terrorism, attacking troops and destroying public interests,” said Yahya al-Shami.
Al-Shami said the al-Houthis operations caused damages of developmental projects being implemented in Saada and forced inhabitants to leave their homes.
Ah, foreign jihaddists.
