Tourism in Yemen

It could be a wonderful industry.

SANAA, 7 May- A Tourism Ministry statistic issued lately mentioned the number of tourists visited Yemen in the previous two years amounted to more than 609 thousand tourists yielding revenues of $486 million.

According to the statistic the average spending of one tourist amounted $140 per night at an average tourist nights amounting to 6.

The largest number of tourists was European then Asians, Americans, Africans while the rest were from Gulf States and the Middle East.

The statistic mentioned that increase in the flock of tourists to Yemen was a major impetus for investment in tourist projects. In this regard the statistic mentioned that tourist projects in the past two years occupied the second place among the more growing economic sectors in Yemen. Tourist projects registered in that period 102 projects out of 376 industrial projects.
