Hard to know who’s more likely to be the liar. They were there and there was the raid. That’s about all we know at the moment. Now AQAP is threatening to unleash their minions of teen-age suicide bombers. And AQAP says the regime lies in order to gain international support. News Yemen

The so-called al-Qaeda in the Arab Peninsula has denied reports by the Interior Ministry that security services have recently arrested ten of its members in Shabwa province, southern Yemen.

In a statement posted on the blog mojahed.net, the al-Qaeda said the Interior Ministry creates allegations and fabricates untrue stories to allege “fictitious” successes. It was just air strike on tribes in Shabwa where six tribesmen were arrested, said the statement.

Security services have never arrested anyone of our Jihadists under the leadership of Qasem al-Reimi and no one has surrendered, said the statement. It has labeled officials in Yemen and Saudi as “apostates” who it said lie about successes against al-Qaeda just to get more assistance from “infidels”.

The proclamation said the group has recruited tens of new Jihadists, who are prepared for Jihad and martyrdom, as it said.

In its response to al-Qaeda’s proclamation, a security source said in a statement to official media that al-Qaeda’s threats are just media splash.

“Al-Qaeda could attack innocent tourists and civilians, but it is too coward to challenge security forces or attack security officials,” said the source.

Trial Updates, Yemen Observer

Terrorist cell members affiliated with al-Qaeda who are being tried before a Criminal Court, Specialized in State Security cases, confessed to planning an attack on banks in Sana’a and other cities to loot their money. They also confessed that they planned to attack foreign tourists in more than one Yemeni region, including tourists at Dar al-Hajar.

The cell contained 16 elements, among them, four Syrians and one Saudi appeared in front of the court on April 13. They were charged for carrying out a number of terrorist actions, in a number of Yemeni cities, joining an armed gang and planning to attack foreigners working for companies at their gathering places. They also planned to attack vital institutions and security points.

The suspects’ confessions included receiving money from Saudis to carry out the plans. They also disclosed the location of a huge weapons stockpile which they hid in various locations, as well as the details of their failed attack against the Italian embassy in Sana’a.

The suspects also confessed their link to the al-Qaeda leader Hamza al-Quiti, who died in a security operation in Tarim Hadramout, their affiliation to the Saudi Al-Qaeda organization, and their receiving money for carrying out the terrorist operations.

The prosecution accused these suspects of joining in an armed gang, committing criminal actions of attacking foreigners working for companies and at their gathering places, attacking vital installations such as camps and security points, jeopardizing community safety and security, and carrying out a number of terrorist actions in more than one Yemeni city last year.

Al-Qaeda resumed their media activity following the security campaign carried out against their terror cells in the eastern governorates (Marib, al-Jawf, Shabwa and Hadhramout).

In an Al-Qaeda statement on its website, it attacked the Yemeni Ministry of Interior and the Saudi authorities, belittling their casualties due to the victories achieved by Yemeni security authorities.

The statement which was published by the Al-Fajr Center for Information said : “those whom you have claimed to have captured are coming to you and they are going to take your lives, because tens of the brave martyrs have joined the death squad. The truth is what you see and not what you allege.”

They denied the capturing of the al-Raimi cell and accused the Yemeni Interior Ministry of lying.

Yemen Post: Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula has announced new martyrs have joined the organization, dismissing reports that Al-Qaeda operatives were arrested.

The organization said in a statement reports released by the Interior Ministry that ten Al-Qaeda affiliates of those who belong to the Qasim Al-Raimi cell were seized in Shabwa province were untrue.

The organization said the ministry used to publish lies and has become an addict to publishing false information to justify its failure to deal with Al-Qaeda operations in Yemen.

“It every day announces a number of Al-Qaeda fugitives are arrested, aiming to propagate unreal victories,” the statement said.

The security in Yemen is unable to reach Mujahedeen, the statement noted, adding that all reports on Al-Qaeda arrests aim to get donor support.

However, the statement depicted donors as non-Muslims and their allies, mainly Saudis, as converters.
