Int’l Rights Coalition Denounces Detention of Yasser al Wazier and Other Leading Activists

The Human Rights Institutes and Human Rights defenders for Human Rights expressed its profound concern as regards the Yemeni authorities’ detention of the eminent human rights defender, Yasser AL-Wazier a member of the Yemeni organization for Defending Human Rights, Democracy & freedoms – AL-Wazier had been forced disappearance for three months than continued his detention for a year, those measures taken against AL-Wazier are closely related to his eminent role in defending the victims of human rights violations in Yemen and all norms’ of discrimination, accordingly security bodies decided to punish him for his human rights activity and his professional life as a teacher and fighting all norm of discrimination done by the government against Zaidiah as the main consequences of Sa’adah War.
While stressing utter condemnation of AL-Wazier detention we deems the arrest a threatening message to all human rights defenders who boldly work on monitoring the daily violations of the Yemeni authorities against citizens. It is also an attempt to hush the victims’ voices that are heard by the world via Yemeni human rights organizations, despite the non-stop Yemeni oppression and the legislative arsenal that aims at terrorizing and undermining all government critics and opponents and all those seeking freedom and respect of human rights.
We calls upon the Yemeni authorities to immediately and unconditionally release Yasser AL-Wazier and Mr. Alezi Rajah, Mohammed,Ahmed, Abdulelah, Abdulrahman AL-Syani, Ahsan AL-Madani, Mohammed AL-Taiab,Mohammed AL-Kawoly, and Mohammed AL-Zubairi , stop all pressures exerted on human rights defenders, and set free all opinion prisoners religious.
We stressed that the Yemeni authorities’ response to such appeals requires the concerted efforts of the international human rights movement and the UN agencies and institutions so that Yemen may review all the legal frameworks against human rights and public freedoms, in order to put an end to the practices that add shame to the human rights record in that miserable country.

تعرب منظمات حقوق الإنسان الموقعة ادناة وكذلك المدافعين عن حقوق الانسان عن قلقها العميق إزاء قيام السلطات اليمنية باعتقال المدافع عن حقوق الإنسان الاستاذ ياسر الوزير الذي هو عضو المنظمة اليمنية للدفاع عن الحقوق والحريات حيثث وقد مضى على اعتقالة اكثر من عام دون مسوغ قانوني ودون توجيه اية اتهامات له وبعد اختطافه واخفائه قسريا لأكثر من ثلاثه اشهر من قبل اجهزة الامن القومي هو ما يزال يقبع حاليا في سجن جهاز الامن السياسي. أن الإجراءات التي طالت ياسر الوزير على صلة وثيقة بدوره في الدفاع عن ضحايا انتهاكات حقوق الإنسان في اليمن، وعلى وجه الخصوص دوره في الدفاع عن الانتهاكات العنصرية والطائفية ضد معتنعي المذهب الزيدي والتي حدثت على خلفية حرب صعدة.
وتؤكد المنظمات إدانتنها الكاملة لاعتقال الاستاذ ياسر الوزير، فإننا نعتبر ان استمرار اعتقالة هو رسالة ترهيب لكافة المدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان، الذين يعملون بشجاعة في رصد الانتهاكات اليومية التي تمارسها السلطات اليمنية بحق مواطنيها، ومحاولة لإسكات أصوات الضحايا، التي تصل إلى شتى أرجاء العالم عبر المنظمات الحقوقية، رغما عن آلة القمع اليمنية التي لا تتوقف، ورغما عن ترسانة تشريعية تستهدف إرهاب وكتم أنفاس منتقدي الحكومة ومعارضيها والمتطلعين للحرية واحترام حقوق الإنسان.
كما وتدعو المنظمات السلطات اليمنية للإفراج الفوري غير المشروط عن ياسر الوزير وكذلك اطلاق سراح جميع المعتقلين خارج نطاق القانون بمن فيهم العزي راجح ومحمد وعبدالاله وعبدالرحمن واحمد السياني وأحسن المداني، ومحمد القاولي ومحمد الطبيب ومحمد الزبيري ووقف كافة الضغوط التي تمارسها السلطات بحق المدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان، والإفراج عن كل سجناء الرأي.
وتشدد المنظمات على أن استجابة السلطات اليمنية لمثل هذه المناشدات، التي تمت بتظافر جهود الحركة العالمية لحقوق الإنسان ومؤسسات وأجهزة الأمم المتحدة، من أجل أن تعيد اليمن النظر في مختلف الأطر القانونية المنافية لحقوق الإنسان والحريات العامة، ومن أجل أن تضع حدا للممارسات التي تجلب مزيدا من العار على سجل حقوق الإنسان في هذا البلد البائس.
