Saudis Find al Qaeda Arms Stash
The arms themselves probably originated in Yemen, possibly imported by the Defense Ministry, but the stash is connected to the earlier arrest of the 44 well-educated Saudi intellectuals, leading to questions about the factionalization of al Qaeda or perhaps a shadow leadership.
BBC: Saudi officials say they have found a large arms cache near Riyadh, linking it to a dismantled al-Qaeda cell. It contained nearly 300 assault rifles and some 41,000 rounds of ammunition.
The weapons are believed to be linked to 44 suspected members of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, whose arrests were announced in August.
