I’m sure Bassam was beheaded. The guy who was standing behind Bassam before his death was clearly holding something that was not a gun. He was probably holding a giant knife.

He wasn’t a spy. He was a security official. He was doing his job on behalf of the Yemeni people who generally speaking aren’t in favor of the random murder of civilians.
