What is happening in Yemen is a testament to U.S failed policy towards Yemen. As it stands the U.S is helping a corrupt and ailing regime to survive longer a regime which is a sponsor of terrorism . The U.S must not write blank checks to a regime which raises the threat of terrorism in order to gain political and monetary support from western countries, as long as these incentives remain Yemen will continue to sponsor terrorism and reap the rewards that come as foreign grants. The U.S should demand political reforms such as changing the corrupt regime and lay the foundation of a genuine democracy and then support Yemen economically after a regime change . Right now the U.S is treating the symptoms while ignoring disease ( which is represented by the Yemeni regime.)
